Scoop up or rub some shea butter from the jar's interior for skin. Massage into the skin while spreading across the region of use. (Shea Butter may become quite hard in cold climates. Simply submerge the unopened Shea Jar in boiling water. After five minutes, the shea butter should be easier to handle.)
Shea Butter can be applied directly to hair and left in. To spread evenly, be careful to massage and comb. Shea Butter can be used as a liquid as well. In order to warm up on the stove, you can transfer a tiny portion of the shea butter from the container into a small pot. Just warm enough to make the Shea Butter liquid. Apply to hair from roots to tips, avoiding the scalp (do not overheat or warm up to a temperature that is too hot to handle). Spread evenly, allow to sit for 30 minutes with a cap on, and then rinse.
