XanthoSight, a component in NOW Macular Vision, is a combination of lutein, zeaxanthin, and meso-zeaxanthin in clinically proven ratios that support optimum eye health, visual performance, and cognitive function. The macula, a region of the eye that controls focus and color discrimination, is where carotenoids like lutein, zeaxanthin, and meso-zeaxanthin are concentrated.
These pigments serve as a filter for blue light, which damages cells, in the macula. The central area of the macula, which is responsible for detailed central vision, is where meso-zeaxanthin is concentrated. Meso-zeaxanthin is not ingested through the diet or found in the majority of eye support items, in contrast to lutein and zeaxanthin. XanthoSight has been prepared with fish oil to improve bioavailability.
